Family historians often accumulate a remarkable collection of names, dates, records, photographs, certificates, newspaper clippings, military files, letters, and family stories. But eventually a different challenge emerges: how do you turn all that research into something people will actually want to read?

In this practical and encouraging talk, author and editor Oliver Luke Delorie explores how to uncover the human story inside family-history research. He will look at ways to choose a clear narrative focus, bring ancestors to life through ordinary details, balance accuracy with readability, and shape research into engaging chapters, sketches, books, and legacy stories that future generations will want to keep.

Oliver Luke Delorie is an author, editor, and founder of Your True Story, where he helps people turn their memories, experiences, and family histories into readable books. He has written and published more than 30 books, sold more than 15,000 copies, been translated into 13 languages, and has worked with his London publisher for the past ten years. His work focuses on making meaningful stories clear, engaging, and accessible to a wider audience.
